2010  Collierville Community Fund Awards Grants


 

October 20, 2010 --  The Collierville Community Fund has announced $10,045 in grants to seven local organizations. 

 

Recipients are:

Collierville Arts Council                              
Collierville Arts Council has been granted $1,500 to underwrite purchase of sound equipment for productions at Harrell Theatre.

Collierville Literacy Council                        
Collierville Literacy Council has been granted $1,075 to make planned, systemic efforts to recruit literacy students.

Family Violence Council of Collierville                           
Family Violence Council of Collierville has been granted $1,970 to fund "Train the Trainer" program that trains adults on how to teach children life skills to deal with violence in the home.

New Day Children's Theatre                                             
New Day Children's Theatre has been granted $1,000 to suport a children's educational program in collaboration with the Collierville Burch Library.
            
Page Robbins Adult Day Care Center                                
Page Robbins Adult Day Care Center has been granted $1,400 to help purchase educational materials for caregivers of newly diagnosed patients with dementia.
 
Collierville Young Life  
Collierville Young Life has been granted $1,000 to subsidize students on a trip to Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend Camp to interact with students from other area high schools.

YMCA at Schilling Farms
The YMCA at Schilling Farms has been granted $2,100 in collaboration with Make A Splash Mid-South to provide swim lessons and water safety classes to children unable to pay for swim lessons.
