2009  Collierville Community Fund Awards Grants


 

October 29, 2009 --  The Collierville Community Fund has announced $10,000 in grants to six local organizations. 

 

Recipients are:

Biblical Resource Center and Museum                              
Biblical Resource Center and Museum was granted $1,000 to purchase copies of 25 books for the Museum’s Reference Library. 80% of the Library was lost in a fire, and they are attempting to build it back up to better serve their clients.

Boy Scouts of America, Chickasaw Council                       
Boy Scouts of America, Chickasaw Council was granted $2,110 to supply financial aid to 10 Collierville families needing assistance in sending their children to summer camps and other sponsored activities.

Family Violence Council of Collierville                           
Family Violence Council of Collierville was granted $2.500 to help provide legal assistance for victims of domestic violence in Collierville.

Leadership Collierville                                             
Leadership Collierville was granted $1,290 for partial funding of Youth Leadership Collierville’s day long retreat for the 2009-10 class.
            
Page Robbins Adult Day Care Center                                
Page Robbins Adult Day Care Center has been granted $2,000 to provide follow-up educational opportunities for caregivers of dementia and Alzheimer’s patients, as well as members of the local police, fire and ambulance organizations.
 
Samaritan Counseling Centers of the Mid-South  
Samaritan Counseling Centers of the Mid-south has been awarded $1,100 to assist with promotional costs of a new counseling center in Collierville.
